1.3.1. Interactivity in General

Definition

Interactivity is the dialog that occurs between a human being and a computer program. Computer games are programs that foster a great amount of interactivity. (Whatis.com)

Any kind of user action - like typing commands or clicking the mouse - is an input.

Typically, interactivity is controlled with the mouse or the keyboard. The following list shows the main input and output actions within the field of interactivity (Sieber 2006):
