1.2. Colours

Learning Objectives

• You will be able to list three characteristics of the RGB colour model.
• You will be able to differ various colour depths.

The definitions of screen colours differ in those of the printed ones. In this unit we will show and explain you the main aspects of the definition of screen colours and some other important facts about them. Furthermore we will learn how to encode colours so that the computer knows which colour has to be visualised.
