1.3.3. Applet

An applet is a software component that runs in the context of another program, for example a Web Browser. The word applet stands for "little application" and is mostly understood as termJava-Applet which is a computer program that runs in a Web Browser and is written in the programming language Java.

Applets usually have some form of termuser interface or perform a particular piece of the overall user interface in a Web page.
