Classes and graphical variables
Relevance classes
On a map we want to show the differences amongst points of interest items in relation to how important they are to a user. We can define 3 classes of measurement for relevance.
Relevance class | Meaning | Example |
---|---|---|
Binary relevance | An POI is either relevant or not | A museum is closed or open |
Ordered relevance | An POI is more or less relevant | The distance a POI is from a person |
Highly important | A POI is of immediate concern | An road accident on a route |
Graphical variables
